Key takeaways
- Dutch is a supported language for Google AI Overviews and AI Mode in the Netherlands, so Dutch prompts are worth tracking separately from English ones.
- Most tools do not state how well they handle Dutch. Ask before you pay: language per prompt, country targeting, and whether data comes from real interfaces or APIs.
- ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews behave differently (about 5 vs about 10 cited sources per answer in Promptwatch's data), so measure them separately.
- No measurement is exact. SparkToro found the chance is under 1 in 100 that ChatGPT or Google's AI gives the same brand list twice, so you need many prompts and repeated runs.
- A tracker alone will not grow your visibility. Look for crawler logs, AI traffic attribution and content workflows too.
Why Dutch companies need their own setup
Most AI visibility advice is written in English, for US brands. A Dutch webshop, bank, or B2B software firm has a different problem. Your buyers ask questions in Dutch, from Dutch IP addresses, and the answers they get can name different brands and cite different sources than the English version of the same question.
Google's own documentation says AI Overviews and AI Mode are available in the Netherlands and Belgium with Dutch as a supported language (Google Search Help). On 8 October 2025 Google announced AI Mode for Dutch users in the Netherlands (Google Netherlands). So the surface exists. The question is whether your tool measures it properly.
What to check before you buy
I would not start from feature lists. Start from five questions a Dutch team should ask every vendor.
Can you set the language per prompt?
Tracking "beste CRM-software" is not the same as tracking "best CRM software". Some tools translate your English prompts, some let you write Dutch prompts natively, and some only say they cover "50+ countries" without saying anything about languages. The ClickForest comparison notes that Otterly.AI lists countries but does not state languages, and that Semrush does not state them either. Veesie, a Belgian and Dutch tool, is one of the few that names Dutch, French and English on every plan.
Is the data from the real interface or from an API?
What a user sees in ChatGPT or AI Overviews can differ from what the API returns. Tools that monitor the actual user interface give you a closer picture of what Dutch customers experience. Promptwatch does this for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode by country and language. Superlines also positions itself around real AI interfaces rather than APIs.
How many runs per prompt?
AI answers vary. SparkToro's finding that brand lists almost never repeat exactly means one run per prompt is noise. Daily runs, or at least several runs per period, give you a trend you can trust. Veesie takes a weekly figure and reports some engines as a majority of three runs, which is a reasonable way to reduce noise.
Does it cover Google AI Overviews and AI Mode separately?
The two surfaces are not the same product. Check that both are listed, not just one. Some tools, like Am I On AI, only measure ChatGPT and AI Overviews.
Can it tell you what to do next?
A mention count does not help a content team on Monday morning. Look for citation sources, crawler data, and some way to turn gaps into content.
How ChatGPT and AI Overviews differ for Dutch brands
Promptwatch's data is global, not split by language, but it still shapes how you should set up Dutch tracking.
- ChatGPT cites about 5 sources per web-search answer, while Google AI Overviews cites about 10 and Perplexity almost exactly 10 (average sources per response).
- More citation slots make AI Overviews the easier engine for newer or mid-authority domains to break into. Promptwatch recommends measuring AI Overviews and ChatGPT separately rather than assuming one predicts the other.
- Social sources behave very differently by engine. From Sep 28 to Oct 4, 2026, ChatGPT got 0.46% of citations from social platforms while AI Overviews got 12.2% (social media citations by AI model). YouTube alone is about 4.1% of AI Overviews citations (top AI Overview sources).
- Reddit's share of ChatGPT citations fell from about 4% to 0.5% on 14 August 2026 (Reddit citations in ChatGPT). If your Dutch playbook leaned on Reddit threads for ChatGPT, rethink it.
- Almost half of ChatGPT responses cite 10 or more unique domains (unique domains per response), so a broad prompt set matters.
None of this is Dutch-specific, and I would not pretend otherwise. But it tells you to track per engine, with a big prompt set, and to look at which source types each engine rewards.
The shortlist
Here is how the main options look for a Dutch company. Prices come from the research notes and vendor pages and change often, so confirm before buying.
| Tool | Best for | Entry price | Engines | Dutch support |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Promptwatch | Teams that want to fix visibility, not just watch it | Free Explore tier; paid from $95/mo | ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Meta AI, Claude and more | Country and language tracking on every paid plan |
| Veesie | SMEs and agencies in NL and BE | EUR 29/mo excl. VAT | ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews; Claude and Gemini from Plus | Dutch, French, English on every plan |
| Otterly.AI | Low-cost entry with Copilot | $29/mo excl. tax | ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot | 50+ countries, languages not stated |
| Semrush AI Visibility | Existing Semrush teams | $99 per domain/mo annual | ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity | Not stated |
| Profound | Large brands | Custom pricing | ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews and more | Trial limited to 1 language and 1 region |
| Brandlight | Multi-brand enterprises | Custom | ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude | Coverage adapted per market |
Promptwatch
Promptwatch is the one I would put first for a Dutch company that wants more than a dashboard. It tracks the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot in each country and language, with prompt volumes, difficulty and query fan-outs. It also logs AI crawler visits to your site, attributes AI traffic, and has a Content Agent that writes and publishes into Webflow, Framer or WordPress. For a Dutch team, the useful part is that you can pair Dutch prompts with crawler logs and see whether the pages AI should read are actually being fetched. It is also ISO/IEC 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, which tends to matter in Dutch procurement for banks, insurers and larger corporates. Its customer list includes Dutch names like Rabobank, ABN AMRO, Bitvavo and DPG Media.

Prices: Essential is $95/mo for 50 prompts, Professional $245/mo, Business $579/mo, with agency plans from $199/mo. Check promptwatch.com/pricing for current numbers.
Veesie
Veesie is the Benelux-focused pick in the ClickForest comparison. Dutch is available on every plan, and the weekly figure uses repeated runs to be more stable. It starts at EUR 29 excl. VAT. The trade-off is fewer engines on the Starter plan (Claude and Gemini arrive from Plus) and a lighter feature set than the larger platforms. It is not in our tools catalog, so check its own site for details.
Otterly.AI
Otterly.AI is a cheap way to start, with Copilot included, daily runs and 50+ countries.

The gap is language. If the vendor cannot confirm native Dutch prompts, test with a trial before committing.
Semrush AI Visibility
If your team already lives in Semrush, adding AI visibility keeps reporting in one place. It covers ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity daily, from $99 per domain per month on annual billing, with 25 custom prompts on the base plan. That is a small prompt set for a market where you want to cover many Dutch queries.
Profound and Brandlight
Profound targets large brands with custom pricing, and its trial is limited to one language and one region, which is awkward if you want to test Dutch and English side by side.
Brandlight is aimed at multi-brand enterprises and adapts coverage per market.

Both make sense for a large group with several markets. For a typical Dutch mid-sized company they are probably more than you need.
Other tools worth a look
Peec AI is popular with European agencies and is a straightforward tracker.
Trackerly.ai advertises daily multi-LLM mention tracking in 20+ languages, which may include Dutch, but verify.
For wider browsing, the GEO software directory at bestgeosoftware.com lists many more options.
How I would set up Dutch tracking
A practical order of work:
- Write 50 to 150 prompts in natural Dutch. Pull them from Search Console queries, customer support questions and sales calls, not from an English list run through a translator.
- Split them by type: informational ("hoe werkt..."), commercial ("beste ... voor ..."), brand-specific and competitor comparisons.
- Add the same prompts in English for the same topics. Compare. Differences show where Dutch content is thin.
- Run ChatGPT and AI Overviews as separate reports. Treat AI Mode as a third.
- Look at cited sources. If Dutch review sites, vergelijkers and forums dominate, your fix is off-site presence, not another blog post.
- Check crawler access. If GPTBot or OAI-SearchBot hit errors on your Dutch pages, no content work will help.
- Read trends monthly, not daily. Copilot, for example, swung from under 2 to nearly 17 sources per answer within weeks before settling.
If you want a human team to run this with you, an agency like 1001 SEO Media covers GEO and technical SEO and uses Promptwatch for AI visibility work.
What the comparison articles get wrong
A few of the ranking pages I reviewed are worth reading with some skepticism. Several are published by vendors who rank themselves first. One names an attribution platform as the best tracker. That is a legitimate product, but it answers a different question (revenue attribution) from "are we mentioned in Dutch answers?". The ClickForest piece is more useful because it states what it could not verify, for example that Rankscale does not say which engines come with each plan.
Its table of price, engines, frequency and languages is the right shape for a Dutch buyer. Copy that structure when you build your own scorecard.
Quick decision guide
| If you are... | Start with |
|---|---|
| A Dutch SME that needs a cheap, Dutch-native weekly figure | Veesie |
| A team that wants to fix gaps, publish content and see AI traffic | Promptwatch |
| Already paying for Semrush and want one login | Semrush AI Visibility |
| A budget-conscious team testing the waters | Otterly.AI |
| A multi-market enterprise | Profound or Brandlight |
| An agency with Dutch clients | Promptwatch agency plans or Peec AI |
Run a trial with your own Dutch prompts
Pick two tools, load the same 30 Dutch prompts into each, and compare after two weeks. Check three things: do the answers match what you see by hand in ChatGPT and Google from a Dutch IP, are your known competitors detected correctly, and can you export the cited sources. The tool that gets those three right for Dutch is your shortlist winner. A free scan like Promptwatch's AI Visibility Report is a quick sanity check before you commit to anything.
